Introducing the team – Jakub Szczygieł

Jakub Szczygieł is Co-Founder of the Kraków Celtic Festival!

He is a seasoned flute and whistle player, known both in the Celtic and Balfolk music scenes from groups such as Beltaine, Light Migrations, Balsam and Celtic Tree.

He shows his musical versatility as a guest artist of many musical genres, including a cooperation and recording with a world-class Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner and Polish-Ukrainian traditional music band Hraybery.

Jakub is a co-founder of Viral Sessions, a global session initiative to connect hundreds of artists from all around the world.

Jakub is also a renowned professional whistle maker of father-and-son Goldfinch Whistles. Some of the world’s best flute and whistles players, such as Brian Finnegan and Sylvain Barou, used their instruments for their recordings and performances.

In his private time he enjoys graphic design, pixel art, game dev and hiking.
