In this fiddle workshop, we’ll learn a traditional Manx tune by ear and use it as a starting point to explore other techniques used in traditional Celtic fiddle music. We will be looking at bowing, ornamentation, rhythm, and phrasing, with a focus on finding your own musical voice.
This workshop is ideal for fiddlers who already have a good command of their instrument and are comfortable learning tunes at a moderate pace. No previous experience of a particular style is required, and sheet music can be provided afterwards.
