Pracownia Kultura w Pracy: Celtic Poetry Workshops

10:00–12:00, Sunday, Sala Kominkowa, Centrum Kultury Dworek Białoprądnicki, (PL/ENG).

“I and Pangur Bán, my cat,
‘Tis a like task we are at;
Hunting mice is his delight,
Hunting words I sit all night.”

„Pangur Bán”, anonymous author, 9th century

We invite you to a two-hour workshop devoted to one of Europe’s most fascinating literary traditions. We will read extraordinary texts from hundreds of years ago. We will explore what makes Celtic poetry so captivating today with its images of nature, mystery, memory, and wanderlust. We will discuss bards, myths, and imagination, and then together we will try to write our own poems inspired by this tradition.

Remember, poetry is not difficult! It has a much lower entry threshold than many other creative fields. You don’t need to be a poet, a poetess, or a literary scholar. You don’t need to have written a single poem. All you need is a little curiosity, because these workshops are for anyone who enjoys words, imagination, and wants to try something new. We will read, talk, and write together. What matters is curiosity, openness, and a willingness to experience poetry in a completely different way.

The workshop will be led by Aleksandra Łapot and Dawid Mateusz.
