Breton music is best learned from the Bretons! Our special guests will lead an inspiring workshop in Breton music on violin and saxophone, but the workshop is dedicated to all instruments.
You will learn about the main styles and movements in Breton music, ornamentation, and the relationship between musical tradition and contemporary practice. Additionally, you will learn about the Breton singing technique “kan ha diskan” (singing and re-singing), which – although it can be performed as a separate performance technique – is closely related to instrumental music.
