13:00–15:00, Saturday, Sala Teatralna, Centrum Kultury Dworek Białoprądnicki, (PL).
We invite you to a lecture by Dr. Hab Bożena Gierek – a religious studies and cultural studies expert, and an economist. She has authored four books, including the acclaimed “Religie Celtów”, numerous scholarly articles, and over a hundred entries published in various lexicons. She currently works at the Institute of Comparative Studies of Civilisations at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
The lecture will be based primarily on Dr. Gierek’s recently published text, “Contributions of Celtic Spirituality to Sustainability” (DOI: 978-3-032-05795-2_26), which focuses on Celtic spirituality and its characteristics and their relation to contemporary ecological issues.
Celtic spirituality is characterized by a holistic approach to the cosmos, primarily an orientation toward creation, and the appreciation of every element of the surrounding world, of which humanity is a part. The lecture will approach the topic from a cultural studies perspective.
