Dr. Witold Konopka, teacher and academic, is a passionate Scottish bagpiper. He performs with the German Thistle Pipes and Drums, Queen Ann’s Revenge, and, as a guest, with the band Dair.
At this year’s festival he will bring you into the fascinating world of Scottish legends, highlighting the role of bagpipes and pipers. His lecture will tell whether bagpipes can sing, why fairies love pipe music, and what pipers seek in underground tunnels.
